Mondays, 9:30 AM at Queen of Angels - beginning May 20
Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come,
this class pulls back the veil on the rich symbolism present in Revelation. Discover what the mysterious figures and images of Revelation mean and see how Revelation is more than an apocalyptic vision of the “end times.” Explore the Church’s teaching on the second coming of Christ and the Last Judgment. Understand how God, the Divine Bridegroom, and the Church, his spotless bride, enter into a heavenly, holy, and mystical marriage every time we celebrate Mass. Facilitator is Jose Juan Valdez.
Tuesdays, 9:30 AM at Emmaus - beginning May 21
It’s Not Your Typical Bible Study: The Turning Point
won’t just teach you how to understand the Bible better. Through engaging videos, a thought-provoking workbook, and an edition of the Gospel of John that reads like your favorite chapter book, this unique nine-week study will help you develop a meaningful relationship with Jesus. Facilitator is Jose Juan Valdez.
Wednesdays, 6:30 PM beginning June 5 - just four sessions!
An Introduction to the Theology of the Body: Discovering the Master Plan for Your Life
is four session study designed to give you a solid understanding of God’s plan for humanity - a plan stamped right into our bodies. Most people have heard the “whats” of Catholic teaching, but very few have ever heard the “whys.” The Church teaching on sex and marriage “makes sense”, and, in fact, is the “logic” of Christianity, because it corresponds perfectly with the deepest stirrings and desires of the human heart. Facilitator is Yvonne Howington.
Wednesdays 9:30 AM beginning May 22
Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible -
An Engaging Journey through the Bible
Many people want to read the Bible because they know it is God’s Word but give up because it is so complicated. The
Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible
study program helps you to get the “big picture” of the Bible by showing how the books of the Bible tell the complete story from Adam and Eve to Christ and the Church. Aided by a unique color-coded
Chart that arranges the key people, places, and events of Scripture in chronological order,
Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible
will help you discover the story of salvation history and understand how you fit into God’s plan. Facilitator is Jose Juan Valdez.
Please see all the graphics below for everything else that is happening!!!!
And the Funnies...
The visiting Bishop had preached at the Fall Fest Mass
and as he stood in the doorway of the Narthex, people were very complimentary about his sermon. "Splendid," said one, "Thank you for the wonderful message," said another, and so it went. However one rather shabbily-dressed man took the Bishop's hand and said, "Pathetic," before moving out. The compliments started again, but after a few minutes the strange man was back in the queue. This time he said to the Bishop, "Very, very boring," and again went through the door. The pattern repeated yet again. This time the message was, "Hope it will be a long time before we see you again." Soon everyone had gone to the festival except the Liturgy Director. "Who was that strange man?" asked the Bishop, "he said some very peculiar things." "Oh, don't worry about him," came the reply, "he's a bit simple, and he just wanders around repeating what he hears other people say."
One day while making his delivery, the milkman was met at the side door
by the housewife. She said she wanted an extra 40 gallons of milk since she was going to take a milk bath. The milkman was almost speechless, but managed to stammer, "Do you want that pasteurized?"
"Oh, no," said the woman, holding her hand neck-high, "only about to here."
