Dear Parishioners,
This weekend at the Masses we welcome the Little Missionary Sisters of Charity who come to Emmaus as part of the Missionary Cooperative Plan as our Bishop requests that we support the work of missionaries who bring the message of Our Lord and his healing presence into the lives of the poor.
The congregation of the Little Missionary Sisters of Charity were founded in 1915 by Saint Luigi Orione in Tortona, Italy with the purpose of serving the poor, orphaned, aged and mentally and physically handicapped. The Sisters who visit our parish community this weekend operate a center for men with severe mental disabilities called Casa Hogar. It is located in the Diocese of Valle de Chalco in the southern part of Mexico. They ask for our help to repair the buildings where they offer permanent shelter and medical, nutritional and occupational service to 34 residents. The Casa Hogar was founded in 1996 and for these 30 years has provided spiritual and physical support upholding the human dignity of the residents by offering Christian witness according to the Faith of the Catholic Church to transform suffering into hope and new life in Christ.
We are asked to contribute to this important missionary work. A second collection will be taken up after Communion. Thank you for your kind generosity and sharing your resources with the missionary activity of our Church.
Your Pastor,
Father David
Queridos feligreses:
Padre David
